Coworker keeps trying to mooch off of employee's lunches, sparking office feud: 'It wasn't my responsibility to provide food for everyone'

It doesn't matter where you personally stand in your workplace environment; you do not owe anyone your food. 

This employee had a toxic coworker, who for the sake of this story was renamed Lisa. Lisa tended to look over the Redditor's shoulder at what they prepared for lunch. One day, the employee brought leftovers from her anniversary dinner with her husband. Of course, it took very little time for Lisa to notice and ask for a bite. This time, the employee didn't have very much left and refused to give in. Lisa then threw a tantrum about how sharing her food would be better for the workplace environment. Literally, in what universe does that logic track? You know what's good for a healthy work environment? Boundaries! It would behoove Lisa to respect them.

    Honestly, I think you should go to management or HR at this point. Someone needs to talk to Lisa about her inappropriate behavior. You shouldn't have to deal with her pestering you every time you have your lunch.

    I would talk to HR and if she asked again I would tell her that "you are making me uncomfortable." And just leave it there. She is creating a hostile work environment. ○ truly
